In the week I had to create the hat that SZA wore to the Met Gala, I experienced deep fear and impressive spikes of adrenaline. I felt as if I had been drugged. Scared, sleep deprived. It was like I was making a hat with a gun to my head, but also felt as though I was on the precipice of something great and magical. Anyways at one point during a particular spike in my hat induced psychosis, I begged my boyfriend to bring me this hat. I had made it months prior and I knew it would go perfectly with my outfit and I needed it. He is an angel, and he brought it to me. It calmed me and I felt at peace and filled with gratitude. None of the flowers fell off her hat.
I meant to sell this earlier in the year when it was still cold. It's quite warm for a feathered felt hat now. But maybe you travel a lot, or maybe you have great air conditioner. It's actually still really nice now that the heatwave has passed and some days still feel chilly if you wear a short dress and no jacket, really. Anyways hot or not if you're smart you won't wait because come winter time it could be sold or find its way into my personal collection permanently.
Fur felt purchased from a closing milliner's collection, electric blue. Pink headsize ribbon, hand stitched of course - no machines here besides me. Individually stitched with pink goose feathers that have been wrapped in a circle, illuminating their unique natural shape.
Size small/regular - if you've never had the thought "my head is big", you'll be fine in this one. She is technically 22".
